Search controls and their representation in the search overview area

barcdb search overview
Free text (1)
The free text search is divided in two fields. The upper one resets the search form and starts a new search for only the entered text. The lower one refines the search by the added search term. By clicking on a search term ("proximity ligation assay" in the example) it is removed. Only whole queries are removed and not individual words. So in the example we cannot remove "proximity" and leave "ligation assay" since the search originally was for "proximity ligation assay".
Main categories (2)
The main category selector lets the user select a category. This is then treated as as clickable path in the search overview area. In the example this is represented by "PROTEOMICS > AFFINITY-BASED". We could click on "AFFINITY-BASED" to remove it and expand the search to "PROTEOMICS".
Organisation type (3)
A selected organisation type can be removed by clicking on the selection in the search overview area.
Resource type (4)
A selected resource type can be removed by clicking on the selection in the search overview area.
Location (5)
Selecting several locations stacks them in the search overview area. This expands the search to all listed locations. Click on a listed location to remove it.
